AutoSD key features¶
AutoSD is the open source Linux operating system you can use to develop your own automotive-grade software distribution.
The CentOS Automotive SIG community has the following key features in iterative development:
- Reactive, deterministic kernel optimized for automotive
- Incorporates Real-time Linux, Real-Time Scheduler, and POSIX clocks in
kernel-automotive
to satisfy automotive requirements for high performance, minimal size, low latency, and consistent response times - Container runtime
- Uses single-node containers and orchestration for application isolation, in-place upgrades, and mixed criticality
- Secure over-the-air updates
- Has immutable, atomic a/b software update capabilities that keep connected vehicles updated with AutoSD core features and security services
- Monitoring and diagnostics
- Integrates logging mechanisms, such as syslog and systemd journal, and log management tools
- Tool set and development environment
- Provides an emulated vehicle environment for Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) and quality-managed (QM) applications
- Failure detection and control
- Detects unexpected or unintended device behavior
- Mixed criticality
- Supports running concurrent QM- or ASIL-rated applications and daemons
- Priority boot
- Satisfies the accelerated boot time required by Federal regulations and safety applications
